Friday. Our take out night. NO COOKING! The only trouble is figuring out what everyone wants! Chinese (Mr. Wong)? Pizza (Romas)? Thai (Mekong)? Subs (Jersey Mike’s)? Or yummy desserts from Outback?

I was walking into the other room when this caught my eye……
Evee found something interesting to look at and didn’t care much that the blinds were shut. I’m guessing it was a bird since I snapped several pictures and she never moved except to swish her tail in excitement. Too funny!

Yesterday on Becky's Blog, she suggested taking a picture that shows evidence of your little cuties around the house. Easy, right? No. There is evidence all over my house but I’ve trained myself to pick it up. Duh! Can’t take a picture of it if you keep putting it away! By early evening I realized that I hadn’t taken my picture yet so while I was going potty… “evidence” caught my eye. It was there all along, guess I just needed to sit down (LOL) and see it.

You all know I’m from Chicago, right?! We moved to NY when I was 15 and that is where I went to college. Sooooooooo, until I was in my early 20’s (when I moved to NC), snow and cold was part of each and every year. These days, when they call for “bad weather”, I don’t run to the store to buy milk and bread like everyone else in the south does. Here is our “wintery mix” that we got today……
I feel like Sarah does, “When are we gonna get some REAL snow?” Just so you all know, it’s 6pm and what little we got, is gone. Nice.
With CHA in full swing (and me super jealous I’m not there), I’m sorta ashamed to say that this is pretty much my only view today.
If you’ll notice, I had all the necessary things to survive…. The phone (on the left) along with my cell, a drink (prolly should be water but it’s not!) and the Making Memories site on refresh every few minutes. Can you believe I haven’t won a darn thing!
I’m hoping this year to be more than ready for Christmas NEXT year. With my hand hurting so much from my cortisone shot, I was able to only work on these on and off.
For days, I was only able to glue 2 at a time… one in each hand. Not sure where the brain child idea came from but clothes pins have saved me not only time but patients and aggravation! See in the box how many I did 2 at a time!?!?! I’m a moron sometimes!
It was a busy week for Steve at work while I took care of my sicko and “want to be sicko”. Here is more of Sarah’s handywork! :-)
By the way, Nathan is feeling MUCH better. Good enough to make it to scouts tonight and make way, way, way too much noise. But they had fun and that is what scouts is all about.

No picture for today. Found out last night that Aunt Joan’s husband, Ray, passed away. He wasn’t sick so it’s very shocking. I had a very hard time getting to sleep, just kept tossing it around in my head. I really can’t believe it. If you are reading this, AJ, I’m so sorry. I love you and hope you are alright.

Look what I woke up to…..
This is the new pillow that my mom brought for Jack to lay on. Not sure how he got thru both layers of material or why the filling is soooo spread out but it sure was a mess!! He had that filling stuff all over himself since I guess he decided it was comfy to sleep in. I just laughed.
Each time Shawn comes to visit, she buys gifts for my kids. They aren’t big crazy gifts but little dollar things that make them happy. It’s just not fair! I don’t get to do the same for her kids. All that is changed!!!
One mailbox for each of the kids and they are FILLED with candy!! Thurston’s is decorated for his favorite football team but London and Nova’s I made super girly.
With Shawn visiting us again, she insisted on cooking one night. I love and hate when she does. I hate it because she is in the kitchen for too long and I love it because… well, who doesn’t like to have a meal cooked for them?!?! DUH! :-) She made super yummy chicken marsala and mashed potatoes with caramelized onions. Bonus: she cleaned up the whole kitchen too!!
Steve got a $100 tip from one of his customers Friday. I told him that he needed to use it along with his gift certificates and buy tools for himself. But he didn’t want to do that. He first thought we should spend it all at Outback. Then bowling. But his final decision was his most favorite place to shop.. The Fresh Market. Our total bill was $166 and he was thrilled beyond belief!!!

Did you know that paper at Michael’s is 7 for $1?!?!?!?! I found that out Tuesday and today was the first chance I had to get up there.
Too bad I’m suppose to have a picture here or else I’d swear all I got was paper!! :-) The ribbon was 2/$3, the fiber was $1.99 and the chipboard alphas were $2.99. Couldn’t pass those up! DUH! That flower chipboard book is in the dollar bins! I got a butterfly one last time I was there.

THE CIRCUS IS COMING, THE CIRCUS IS COMING!!! OMG we have to go to the circus!!!!! I’ve been waiting for Sarah to be old enough to not be scared but enjoy it and I think this is the year. Bonus that it comes the week of her birthday. Now I just need to figure out when the circus train comes so we can watch the animal parade.

Brrrrrr! The cold is coming. I know most of you Northerners have already had the cold by you but now it’s heading toward us. Remember that I’m from the North and don’t mind winter but it’s the fun of snow that I miss… NOT 12 degrees!! So today, the big questions is…… How long will our wood last? I brought some in the house to start a fire tomorrow but I’m thinking we’ll need to buy some to get thru the winter.

Why are Mondays so hard? Geesh. I was so tired this morning, hardly got anything done. Today was trash pick up and they didn’t make it around to my house till after noon. Maybe they were really tired today also! Tomorrow is recycling pick up. Never knew that so much of our trash was recycle-able(is that a word?!). Take a look at our bin-s!! and notice the one across the street. I prolly should mention that there is a bunch of Christmas boxes in ours still and the couple across the street are 1,000 years old. How much trash could they actually make? :-)
Pink, Pink, Pink!!! I really wanted to get Sarah a DS for Christmas, but since we got them bikes, our budget wouldn’t allow it. Saturday, we decided that she HAS to have one. So off her and I went to get her a pink DS, pink case (bought that at Christmas!), and a game of her own. She’s been a zombie game player ever since! LOL

Today was exciting! We signed Nathan up for Little League Baseball!!!! He will have try outs on March 7th and then there is a draft to see what team he’ll be on. I’m excited to see how well he does with the other kids. Tonight we have Chad sleeping over. He’s Nathan’s best buddy and lives next door. They are crazy about games and have given Sarah the fever!!
I think I really need to get her a DS of her own so she doesn’t have to look over their shoulders!!

Today is a creative day. With the house clean, I can create and I’ve been dying to do so. Those cutie mailboxes were calling out to me. I think I’ll make some for my nieces as a little surprise. I did make a pretty big mess in my creating….. it was SO worth it!! :-)

Today was rough starting. Guess the Christmas break and sleeping in has all caught up with me. But…. I did get things done today. Sarah and I went to the post office, gas station and Target. I picked up some of those super cute valentine mailboxes from the dollar section. I can’t wait to decorate some!!! :-) My main goal today was to get the decorations all put away and back to normal and I got that done!
Boxed up all my cutie snowmen (here is just a very small sample!). Sad to see the tree empty but glad to see it go. Those dang needles were EVERYWHERE! And I couldn’t keep the cats out of the water! Here is Patches.. cold busted!!

Today was much better than yesterday. I woke up sleepy since I took meds last night to help the vertigo go away. I’m very glad that the meds worked!! I kept Kian’s kids today. They were very well behaved, that is until Nathan got home. He seems to be the missing battery in the loudest toy. Oy! Too much stress for a non smoker so I had to walk away and let them do what they wanted.
Sunday, ah, Sunday. I get up early and leave the kids in bed so I can grocery shop alone. It’s gotten to be my routine and I really like it. Nathan isn’t so bad at the store but Sarah is impossible. I worked on rent junk and found it to be a positive on our side. Yeah me! Made stuffed shells for dinner, everyone raved. Haven’t made those in a long while. I’m sad that Shawn has gone home. :( Went to Patient First to find out what the heck is wrong with my left foot….. fungus! Ewwww. Looks like it’s being eaten away. It really hurts today.
Shawn came to visit this weekend!! She’s so cute! We did some girly shopping today WITH OUT the children and it was so nice. She gets to drive her Dad’s car up here to help him put miles on it. He did a lease and bought extra miles but the lease is almost up and he’s still got 1,000’s to use. Soooooooooo, she drives up and back from here and puts on at least 800 each time. I feel so under dressed when riding in the car!
Friday. I have a ton of errands to get done today. I promised the kids they could get fish for their new 10 gallon tank. I call it the invisible tank! Nathan already had a HUGE snail (we had to rescue it from the big tank!) so we put that in. Sarah wanted her own snail and she picked one the same color as his. He insisted on getting another upside down catfish since the 1st one got eaten and 2 ghost catfish. Well, the upside down catfish stays hidden all the time and the ghost catfish are see-thru! At least the gravel is pretty!
Not sure if you can tell but the little snail is ON TOP of the big snail. Guess even snails need to get cleaned!!
Day one of my project 365. Let’s think happy thoughts that I actually do this every day. Steve had the day off so we watched our regular marathon of The Twilight Zone. Some of those shows really are creepy! But, we do it every year so why stop now?!?!? lol No pictures today, didn’t get off the sofa for long.
